Finding Your Management Footing in a New Team and Company

Starting to manage a new team, especially in a new company, can feel overwhelming. When I joined Wix as a Team Lead for 4 senior developers from different Wix groups, I faced similar challenges. In my talk, I'll share my experience and insights on how to navigate this situation, including when to start making changes, fitting into a team of seniors, and learning the ropes from scratch.

18:45 — 19:00

Gal Sharir,
Backend Guild Master

From IC to Manager and Back

Many view technical growth as this critical intersection with a right or left turn, where you either climb the managerial ladder or sharpen your technical skills.
In this presentation, I will explore more diverse pathways and perspectives on navigating technical growth, drawing from my own unique journey of transitioning between technical and management roles.

19:00 — 19:15

Adir Amsalem,
Developer Tools & Frontend Infra

The Hands on Team Lead

How can a real hands on approach as a team lead transform your leadership approach? Join me for “The Hands-on Team Lead” talk, where we’ll explore how actively participating in technical tasks and leading by example fosters productivity, collaboration, and alignment within the team, while also boosting morale and driving innovation.

19:15 — 19:30

Itay Friedman,
FED Guild Manager

Managing the Technical Backlog

The technical backlog often holds some of the best opportunities for a team leader to make an impact. Making it happen however, is far from easy. In my talk, I’ll share my toolkit, methodologies for getting it done, and some of the most unique and interesting behind-the-scenes challenges at Wix Engineering.
